Boston Tech Initiative COVID-19 Policy
The health and safety of our FIRST and Boston Tech Initiative community is of primary concern. To help ensure safety this season, Boston Tech Initiative will implement the following requirements for all in-person events during the 2021-2022 season.
- Masks must be worn covering both the nose and mouth at all in-person events by everyone in attendance. We will consider non-compliance, by either spectators or teams, to be a serious breach of this policy that will be factored into expulsion from
the event - Judging rooms will be limited to no more than 15 youth team members (no mentors) with 6 ft. distance maintained between team and judges
- Pit occupancy may be limited to promote distancing amongst teams, dependent on venue size. Where limitations exist, designated team gathering areas will be made available
- Mentors will work with each of their team members and parents to affirm the following prior to attending an event:1. I do not have any COVID-19 symptoms
2. In the last 10 days, I have not tested positive, or knowingly been exposed to anyone who has tested positive, for COVID-19
Paper work is not required. This is an honor system request. If anyone answers “Yes” they should not attend the event.
IMPORTANT: Any and all of these measures are subject to change given COVID-19
circumstances.
We also want our community to know Boston Tech Initiative supports FIRST’s position on vaccination:
FIRST believes that the best path toward ending the COVID-19 pandemic—and having a successful season—is through vaccination. We strongly recommend everyone who is eligible and has access to a vaccine consult with their physician and get vaccinated against COVID-19 as soon as possible.
