Greetings MA FTC Team Mentors,
Our BTI website Kickoff Page has been updated for the season and is available at https:// bostontechinitiative.org/ftc- kickoff-2023/
We are still putting together Kickoff specifics, but you can access location information as well as register for your Kickoff via this page.
We announced in our last email blast that Western New England University in Springfield will be joining us as a satellite location this year, and we are now pleased to announce that Archbishop Willliams High School in Braintree will be joining us as second satellite Kickoff. Thank you WNE and Archbishop Williams!
Wow – this is great! We are wondering if we will miss anything by not coming to the main Kickoff though?
Our plan for Kickoff includes having feeds from our Main Kickoff to both satellite locations so teams will be tuned in to view speeches and season specific information that will be shared from Weston*
Additionally, each Kickoff will have its own set of workshops (some may be the same, some may differ per location.)
Also, where there are any giveaway items, we will include all teams attending a Kickoff in any drawing that takes place at the main Kickoff.
Finally, each satellite Kickoff will have a Field with the CENTERSTAGE game elements available for viewing, measuring, photos, etc. post the reveal video along with someone running the Q&A.
Can’t make a Kickoff? We intend to have the 11:00 AM* Telecast Available on our BTI Website if you need to tune from home!
General Schedule for Kickoffs:
8:00 – 8:30 Meet & Greet, Games & Mixers
8:30 – 10:30 Workshops
11:00 – 12:00 Weston Kickoff / Stream* (note: 11 AM start subject to modification – please check the website for changes prior to attending; we will also inform teams on site/day of if we need to adjust the 11:00 AM start).
12:00 – 1:00 Game Reveal, Field with CENTERSTAGE Game Elements Reveal, Q&A
Please register for your team’s Kickoff Now!
We ask all teams get registered for a Kickoff as soon as possible so we know who is attending, which location, and how many team members to expect. Registration is open at the link above.
All Call – Workshop Presenters!
If your team is interested in hosting a workshop at either the main or a satellite location, please let me know as soon as possible.
Please include: Topic, Duration (30 Minutes or 60 Minutes), Description, Capacity if Activity or Discussion Based, and Location Preference 1, 2, 3. You can view last year’s workshops for formatting examples at: https:// bostontechinitiative.org/ftc- kickoff-meeting-workshops- 2022/
We would like to have our schedules set as soon as possible so we can share with teams what workshops are taking place and when they are scheduled.
Thank you all and we will be in touch again soon – enjoy the weekend and these remaining weeks of summer, and as always, don’t hesitate to let me know if you have any questions.
Best,
Deb
