Greetings 2022-2023 MA FIRST Tech Challenge Teams!
We are excited to be in January and continuing with our Qualifying events.
We want to thank both St. John’s Pioneer Robotics Team 12589 and Lexington High School Team 4029 2 Bits and a Byte for hosting our first two Qualifier events, held on 12.18.22 and 1.7.23 respectively. We also want to Congratulate all participants and award-winning teams for the great competition they brought.
We now have 8 more Qualifying Events before our state Championship on March 4th, and are looking forward to seeing participating teams at these events.

Note: we are still getting Flyers finalized for some of the events. Our goal is to have them posted (approximately) 2 weeks before the event takes place, so please check back if your event’s flyer is not yet posted.
Award and Competition (Match Results) Postings
We will have the results submitted to FIRST within 48 hours of each Qualifier event. They are available for viewing at https://ftc-events.firstinspires.org. We suggest you bookmark this page for easy reference.
Advancement to MA States Competition
As a reminder, advancement to MA States was detailed in our Event Policies Document that teams agreed to prior to completing event registration.
Note: we are looking into potentially increasing the spots to the state championship and will message teams when a “go” or “no go” decision has been made, along with pertinent details.
Dean’s List Interviews Update
Remote Dean’s List Interviews will take place on January 28th between 10 AM – 1 PM.
Zoom call details along with the Semi-Finalist specific interview time and interviewer panel will be sent to the nominating mentor by this Friday, January 13th.
We ask that the nominating mentor pass along the interview information to the student(s).
Dean’s List Semi-Finalists will have up to 10 minutes for the interview.
Promote and Compass Awards for MA State Championship Attendees
The optional Promote and Compass Awards will be awarded at the 2023 MA State Championship.
The window to submit will be from 2/18 to 2/25 11:59 pm EST and is open to MA State Championship participating teams.
As with last year, teams will submit via the https://bostontechinitiative.org/ website. Further details, including the submission URL, will be provided prior to the opening date.
Information on the Promote and Compass awards can be found in Section 9.5.1 of Game Manual 1, page 51.

Safety Glasses are required in the Pits and the Competition area at all times during the competition event.
